UPDATE: My bare face 2013 - year end

Hello there,

it's the end of year 2013 and I am proud to say I have sorta cleared my skin (if you do not know how my skin previously looked like - check my previous posts - I had burned my skin with acid early this year to challenge myself in covering it up with makeup - FAIL - I will not do this again - I still have scars - you see?). I no longer wear makeup everyday, since my face now looks "fresh"! Yeah?!!
I'm very content with my latest skincare routine:

I still use random cleansers and scrubs depending on my mood and I am happy with the results.
My Clarisonic Mia2 which I recently purchased (about 2 weeks ago) has changed my skin with visible results. I have even been receiving compliments on my "glowing" skin and I am very happy about it! Woooooooo....

Here is a list of the products I use at random:
  • Clarisonic Mia 2 (morning and evening - totally worth the splurge - I always look forward to use it twice a day 2 minutes at a time using the sensitive brush head)
  • Dr. Kaufmann IR white soap (most of the time at mornings and evenings - be careful as this stings the eyes)
  • Shu Uemura Skin Purifier (when I have worn makeup at night and sometimes in the morning as well - blurs my eyes sometimes but it doesn't hurt or bother me - by far my favorite makeup remover and skin cleanser - so worth the splurge as well... a big bottle will last you about a year!)
  • St. Yves Face Care Products (facial scrub and face wash I use at random once or twice a week - been using these products for years and I still like using this. It has a nice smell and it makes my face feel thoroughly cleansed.)
  • Jericho Foaming Facial Scrub (facial scrub I use at least once a week - I alternate with my St. Yves scrubs since this one is kinda pricey but I like it.)

Be warned: Clarisonic face brushes should only be used with MILD soap and facial cleansers...
I tried using it with a soap my sister gave me and it was too harsh on my skin I started peeling right away. It burned and hurt so be careful!

I took these pictures with my Samsung Galaxy S4 - no filter - I did not even use the "beauty shot" option... imagine how my skin would look with that feature.

Overall, I am happy with my current skincare routine and I'm in love with the products I currently use.

About my skin: To those of you who do not know: my skin type is oily to combination. I have super oily lids and T-zone area and I always have oil control sheets on my desk for a quick fix.

Enjoy!

Happy New Year!

Shu Uemura Haul

Hello!

Ok, I just purchased the large green skin purifier (anti-aging) and eyelash curler.
Spent around 5k+ (less 15% discount) - received double points since it's my birthday month! Wohoo!

Everything else I got for free - awesome! :D

My first Laura Mercier product...

Readers,

a good friend named Bex Doctor has gotten me into this so for my birthday, I finally went ahead and bought one for myself in the shade "sand" - I was going to get "bisque" which is one shade lighter but they didn't have any stocks left... they only had the variant with oil (for dry to combination skin).
Since I tend to get very oily on my lids and T-zone, I just went ahead and got the "sand" shade.

Our skin-tone changes depending on how much sun exposure or whitening products we use.
So far, I'm very satisfied with this product. I apply it with my hands to properly warm up and blend. It is very pigmented for a tinted moisturizer. I can say it's light to medium coverage. If you only have slight discoloration on your skin maybe this product is for you. I love - hate the packaging. Tubes tend to be squeezed but at least you can get all the product out of it. It's as good as a foundation quality-wise. It says on the box that you need to re-apply this product every 2 hours?! I think this product lasts longer than 2 hours on the skin if properly applied and blended and topped with face powder or powder foundation to set.

Pros:
skincare
lightweight
matte to dewy finish
moisturizer
SPF 20 sunscreen
light to medium coverage
can be used as or instead of foundation
OK for commuters

Cons:
expensive
you need to use more product for more coverage
large tube packaging
cannot be used on damaged skin

New discovery

From the snoe beauty stall in festival supermall... it's so expensive but seems worth it! 990php each... I want the mascara and the eyeliner... 😍😍😍😍😍

I can't wait to get this... OMG OMG!!! I was never this excited to get new makeup! This brand... I can't wait to review it...

My initial thoughts: crazy in love!

The texture of the mascara is not too wet and it is easy to apply. Seems waterproof because it has beeswax. Does not smudge for a half day that I wore it. Hard to remove though. It seems to have thickened my lashes... WOW! I'm very impressed.

Just in case you don't know...

SNOE beauty offers nice total body care products as well as makeup and even real hair extensions and false lashes... I have been a fan and have spent a lot of money on this brand since I first discovered their temporary booth... The sales reps already know me and get excited when I come visit the stall... I even had the honor to meet the CEO Jen 😊

They have an online store and plan to go Global!!! So this maybe something to look forward to...

So they have 2 different eyeliner types. Gel with smudger and felt tip pen for percise lines. I most likely will get 2 gel liners and the pen as well as the mascara... oh... can't wait... πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

I tried using the BODY Shop camomile eye remover which should be gentle but still irritated my eyes a bit. I believe the cleansing oil from Shu Uemura is better... will SNOE come up with a good makeup remover? Maybe? Hopefully. I can't wait to try it... I wish it wouldn't be much too pricey...

Below is my look with those products in the above picture..

Used a bit on my eyebrows and lids for contour as well a inner rim and waterline... enjoy!!! πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡

Katy Perry Lashes

Who thought these cannot be bought in the Philippines? I can't wait to try these babies out - the brand has good lashes and lash adhesive. These felt like regular falsies but there are "Naturalites" of this brand than when worn, feels like your own lashes! Two thumbs up! ;)

Revlon | Just Bitten

Bought these babies in the bazaar during my lunch break. *sigh*
I just could not resist these. They swatch super nice and have a long staying power which I will need to test first. If you've read my previous posts you will know that I have posted a review of their other Just Bitten Jumbo lip pen which I have found a bit drying - my friend got allergic reaction to that lip product so I would not recommend it to girls who have sensitive lips.
What's with these? These are pretty pricey but I hope worth it.
I can't wait to test these babies ;)

Drugstore Party Makeup by Yours Truly (feat. Karin)

Hi,

so after 4 years, I've finally done a sexy smokey eye for Karin on her last work night in Manila before she flew back to Leuven, Belgium.

Thank you for the chocolates by the way!

So her skin is flawless, I did not even need to put foundation or powder.
She has beautiful blue-hazel-green eyes. I just used dark taupe and chocolate brown to smoke up her eyes. Here I used matte duo eyeshadow from Ever Bilena in #London !!! Less than PHP150 worth, super nice for everyday to night! Then I used a black auto-eyeliner from essence (Germany - a gift from a friend so I don't know the price) to line her waterline and inner rim. As mascara we used black brown Falsies from Maxfactor (around PHP700). To lightly highlight and contour her face I used my fave from Etude House Aloha V-line slim maker in #1 sun gold / wood brown (which is sadly faced out, but I already have a spare one once this one is all gone...) For her cheeks I used Shawill's makeup blusher in #6 perfect peach for PHP99 only. For her lips, I used Ever Bilena's matte lipstick in pink flame for PHP165 only. For her eyeliner, I used my fave eyeliner pen from TheFaceShop (always sold out... around PHP600 and after a few years still not dried up and working fab!)

I hope you enjoyed this! Cheers and Enjoy!

New Foundations

Inital thoughts:

Temptu:

this brand is famous for it's airbrush makeup - This Retouch Foundation in the shade "warm ivory" is a little light and pink for me. Though It blends well on the skin and it is super light weight, I feel like I have no foundation on at all - the coverage is build-able so you can cover a lot of spots. I would still recommend finishing up with the powder - thus - this

L'Oreal:

infalliable never fail powder! I love this texture and it has full coverage! If you do not want full coverage, just use a kabuki brush! For full coverage just use a sponge. This is a 2-way cake so you can apply it wet or dry. If you apply this wet, this powder can last longer... I think. I have tested this and I barely had to retouch! I retouch because I tend to be a perfectionist! L'Oreal face powders are great and the quality for their foundations - liquid or powder in general.

OMG! THEY returned MY SAMSUNG GALAXY S4!

WORD! I was watching movies on youtube when we realized there were policemen outside... They had just retrieved my phone but did not catch the dude who stole it. The micro sim and SD cards were the only ones missing... (I could just get that easily replaced...!)

I couldn't really believe they found it?! They said they asked the people who were loitering at the area where my phone got snatched and someone finally spilled the beans and told them where the suspects family is from (Paranaque). They said they went to see his family to ask to return my phone... They did. I never thought that I would actually see my phone again.

I have spent the whole night crying in bed last night thinking about what happened. The shock and the shaking I felt when it all happened so fast. Well at least my phone is back and I am so happy about it! :)

It even still has all my "personalization" and pass codes - they didn't even try to wipe it nor sell it?!

When I tested another sim, I immediately received a text message from that phone number with the exact location of my phone. So yeah, it's nice to know what features I had installed beforehand. Now I just need to create a Samsung account to make sure it's easier to find it next time (which I hope will not happen...)
OH well, HAPPY SUNDAY!

PS: Special thanks to SPO4 Roderick Ellasus and co. for their efforts. *clap*clap* GOOD JOB!!!
